At Take Five we understand that the industry is constantly growing and changing, and we are committed to growing and changing along with it! So where do event planners go to learn more about their industry? To Celebrity Wedding Planner David Tutera, of course! But we were lucky to not have travel too far, because in April David Tutera came to us!

Alexandra Truppe and Madeline Woolf, from Take Five’s management team, started preparations for the busy wedding season by achieving a certificate in David Tutera’s Wedding and Event Planning Symposium. Over the three full days of courses held at the Rosewood, David Tutera himself shared some tricks of the trade when it comes to Wedding and Event planning.

But Take Five didn’t just participate in his experience, we hosted him and all 60 of his international guests to a unique experience that can only be found in Bermuda! Under the stars in St. George’s very own open air UNESCO world heritage site, the Unfinished Church, guests were in awe of the stunning design and flawless planning by Das Fete, delicious cocktails by Twisted Spoon, and enchanting melody from a local choir and singer Joy T Barnum. Our executive chef, Matt Pridham, artfully created a flavourful and colorful menu with local flair, befitting the awesome sensory experience that was this event.

The evening opened with a tempting lineup of canapes, and the favorite was, or course, our local tuna ceviche with ginger, seaweed salad and pea tendrils. After the guests were seated by the helpful catering
staff, wine was poured and the first course was delivered. Fresh salad with local greens, pancetta, figs, crispy daikon radish, topped with edible orchids in a Surinam cherry vinaigrette. The main course was served and guests were delighted to try local grilled rockfish. The fish was served on a bed of quinoa and lentils, with golden beets, and zucchini in a coconut prickly pear sauce. Needless to say, there were plenty of empty plates!

Take Five is honored to have been a part of this incredible experience. Working together with so many inspiring event planners and floral designers throughout the three-day course was inspiring and a great way to be more involved in Bermuda’s community. Take Five looks forward to collaborating with all the amazing planners, including David himself in the near future.
